Victoria Chislett
BSc (Hons) MSc - Learning & Development Manager
Victoria graduated from the University of York in 2003 with a BSc in Psychology and a great deal of voluntary experience of working with behaviourally challenging children and adults with severe psychological problems.
She went on to spend a year working as a training and networking officer for a small training company in the North East specialising in assisting the long term unemployed into employment through a programme of confidence building and motivational training courses. Victoria also had the opportunity during this project to gain experience of working with particularly socially disaffected groups such as young offenders, drug abusers and asylum seekers. During her time with this company, Victoria took responsibility for the preparation for and subsequent achievement of the Investors In People Standard.
When this project came to an end, Victoria returned to full-time study at the University of Edinburgh to undertake an MSc in Performance Psychology and learn about the principles of effective performance in a variety of domains including business, sport and the performing arts. During this time she developed a particular interest in the concept of 'hardiness' and its impact upon performance and her dissertation was an investigation into the relationship between hardiness and efficacy in male rowing crews. This was an original study and the findings were deemed to be of such significance that it has been submitted for publication in several academic journals.
Victoria's clients include Hallmark Cards, Crown Relocations, New College Nottingham, Deans Foods and Emerald publishing.
In addition to her professional interests, Victoria is a very serious Cox for one of Britain's top rowing clubs. She has also recently represented the Scottish rowing team, winning elite international events such as Henley Women's Regatta and the Home Countries International Regatta.
Victoria holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Performance Psychology; she is also a licensed Life Orientations behavioural styles practitioner.
