Who The Course Is For

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is designed for people who have an involvement in construction work and need to provide advice on welfare and health and safety in construction work. It provides them with a good foundation in health and safety management issues to ensure the health and safety implications of their decisions are properly taken into account.

This course is targeted at delegates who have successfully completed the Management of Safety & Health (week 1) of the NEBOSH General Certificate in the last 5 years. If you haven't, please click here.

    The academic benefits

    You will have the academic qualifications for Technician status of IOSH (TechIOSH). The certificate also satisfies the eligibility requirements for Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (AIIRSM)

    You can use the NEBOSH Construction Certificate which is referenced within the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) for CDM Regulations 2007 as a key knowledge indicator when assessing stage 1 competence for CDM Co-ordinators


    Learning Outcomes of the NEBOSH Construction Certificate

    1. Understand the main requirements and application of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007.

    2. Understand the factors to consider when carrying out a site assessment; identify construction activity hazards, assess the risks and recommend control measures.

    3. Identify the hazards and outline appropriate control measures in the following areas: movement of people and vehicles, mechanical and manual handling, work equipment, electrical, chemical and biological, physical and psychological, working at height, excavation work and confined spaces, and demolition.

    4. Successfully carry out a safety inspection of a construction workplace identifying hazards, recommending control measures and preparing a management report


    Examinations and Certification

    Delegates are awarded the Certificate on successful completion of one 2-hour written paper and a workplace based practical inspection project. The exam is conducted in our training centres at the end of your course, and the project is completed in your own workplace. The project should take no longer than 3 hours to complete and you will have 7 days from the end of the course to return it to us by post. Certificates are forwarded by NEBOSH approximately 12 weeks after the completion of the course.


    Exam Re-sits
