NEBOSH Diploma Intensive Courses
Accredited Courses and Exams
For accredited health and safety qualifications which require an individual to successfully pass a number of examinations and assessments at the conclusion of the training, a key component of achieving the qualification will be actually passing these exams. If they do not pass, whilst they will still have learned a great deal of useful information on the course, they will not acquire the accredited qualification which was likely to be their primary reason for enrolling on the course in the first place. This article looks at NEBOSH Diploma intensive courses and why they are the best option and format for this course in terms of providing the maximum potential for passing the assessments.
The NEBOSH Diploma is a Comprehensive Qualification
Of all the health and safety qualifications available in the marketplace today, one of the most comprehensive is the NEBOSH Diploma. This course requires seven weeks of classroom training, as well as approximately 225 hours of self-study, not to mention revision time. As such, there is a tremendous amount of detailed information which needs to be learned and knowledge acquired in order to pass what are widely considered to be amongst the toughest of health and safety exams. The NEBOSH Diploma is deliberately intended not to be an easy course, which means that those who do successfully pass all of the exams and assessments will have achieved a highly respected and prestigious qualification.
With so much course content to learn, it is easy for vital information to be forgotten. The more time that elapses between learning it and the exam, the less the candidate is likely to remember. Quite often this can be the difference between passing and failing the assessment(s), and consequently not achieving the qualification.
There has been a significant rise in the number of health and safety training providers who offer the NEBOSH Diploma as an online or distance learning option. Marketed as a less expensive alternative than a classroom-based course as well as having the convenience of being able to carry out the work in your own time and fitting around work commitments (as opposed to having to take time away from the workplace in order to attend classroom-based training), it can seem an extremely tempting option. However as we have seen with other qualifications like the NEBOSH General Certificate and other sizeable courses, this option is not really suitable and greatly increases the probability of failing the exams.
Pass Rates Before Profits
Unlike some of our competitors who are quite happy taking money from anyone and letting them struggle on a format which seriously limits their chances of achieving the qualification, at ATC Risk Management we run all of the sizeable qualifications as intensive block courses. Rather than stringing them out one day a week or having to rely on standard NEBOSH exam sittings as many providers do for the NEBOSH General Certificate for example, we run our courses as full-time block weeks in the classroom. Not only does this intensive teaching method enable delegates to achieve the qualification in a short period of time, it also ensures that they go into all exams with the information taught on the syllabus fresh in their minds. This has contributed to our above the national average pass rates during our many years (over 30 and counting) of providing health and safety training to individuals and companies of all sizes and industries.
The Benefits of an Intensive Health and Safety Course
The NEBOSH Diploma is an extremely tough course, and is a big step up even from the NEBOSH General Certificate which in itself is a fairly demanding course, comprising two full weeks of training. Whilst we do not recommend taking the NEBOSH General Certificate via a distance learning or e-learning format, we certainly warn against attempting the NEBOSH Diploma in such a way. Whilst it may be tiring and require a large amount of commitment, dedication and self-discipline, an intensive NEBOSH Diploma course which teaches the syllabus on a full-time basis, along with the constant presence and support of a course tutor, will provide the greatest chance of success for delegates wishing to pass the assessments and achieve the NEBOSH Diploma qualification.
