Sharps Training

This course is aimed at operatives who work with or have the potential to come into contact with sharp objects (sharps), along with supervisors and managers who control such activities. It is designed to provide an insight into some of the issues associated with the incorrect handling of sharp implements, as well as the health risks to ensure the safe disposal and handling of these implements. It is also an ideal course to top-up existing knowledge and tool box training. Managers will also find the Sharps Training course useful in order to understand the issues being faced by their staff, and offer ideas and solutions to help deal with these issues.

The course covers legislation, illnesses and diseases contractible, prevention of injury, as well as problem solving discussions with the course candidates. Also, we will look at the equipment available and its use.

Course Tutor

Our health and safety consultants are qualified and experienced health and safety professionals with an appropriate background in the health and safety industry and many years of experience in delivering engaging health and safety training programmes. All consultants hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Course Duration

The Sharps Training course will be delivered over half a day (3 hours). This allows you to put two groups on the course in one day if you have a large number of delegates, or don't wish everyone to be on the course and away from the workplace at the same time.

Certification

Delegates will be awarded a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course.
