Aims and Objectives

This course is approved by the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) and trains workers to ensure that their actions positively contribute to health and safety in the workplace, and that individual health and safety responsibilities are clearly understood. The IOSH Working Safely course will assist workers in complying with health and safety requirements, and alert them to co-operate with managers in safety activities to improve the organisation's safety performance.

Key modules include:

  • Introduction for health and safety
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Common hazards and controls
  • Improving safety performance
  • Protecting our environment through environmental health and safety

Who should attend?

The course is aimed at operative level and is designed to be equally valid across all industry sectors.

Modern training is not about teaching, it's about learning. No more 'death by PowerPoint'. We know that getting people fully involved, having fun, and learning by doing, is the way to achieve health and safety training success.

Course Material

Each delegate will be issued with a workbook to assist them both during and after the course, which will contain information, guidance and forms to assist workers. The IOSH Working Safely course is designed to be interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to develop their skills with the support of the course tutor.

Course Tutor

Our health and safety consultants are qualified and experienced health and safety professionals with an appropriate background in delivering engaging training. All consultants hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Duration

The course will be delivered over one day.

Certification

At the conclusion of the course delegates are required to undertake a multiple choice assessment and complete short risk assessment style activities. Delegates who successfully complete the assessments at the end of the course are awarded an IOSH Certificate in Working Safely.
