The course is aimed at managers and supervisors with health and safety responsibilities, but is equally valid for directors, senior officers and health and safety officers in low risk organisations. Covering virtually any sector and any organisation, it is designed to give managers the skills and knowledge they need to help them effectively manage health and safety in the workplace.

  • Why we manage safely
  • Understanding relevant responsibilities (the health and safety legal framework)
  • Health and safety management systems (including HSG65)
  • Identifying workplace hazards
  • Assessing and controlling risks (risk assessment using the Health and Safety Executive's five steps to risk assessment approach)
  • Monitoring, reviewing and performing a health and safety audit
  • Incident and accident investigation


Course Material

Each delegate will be issued with a workbook to assist them both during and after the course which will contain information, guidance and forms to assist supervisors and managers. The course is designed to be interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to develop their skills with the support of the course tutor.

Course Tutor

Our health and safety consultants are qualified and experienced health and safety professionals with an appropriate background in the health and safety industry and many years of experience in delivering engaging health and safety training programmes. All consultants hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Course Duration

The Health and Safety for Managers course is delivered over two days.

Certification

Delegates will be awarded a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course.
