COSHH Awareness Training

This COSHH course is aimed at people who deal with hazardous substances on a day to day basis. Delegates will be briefed on the importance for procedures, safe handling and assessment of substances within their organisation. At the conclusion of the course, delegates will have a sound understanding of their personal and legal responsibilities for the control of chemical and harmful substances.

The course will cover relevant issues likely to affect persons using chemicals and harmful substances including:-

  • COSHH regulations and principles
  • Undertaking a suitable COSHH risk assessment and identifying controls
  • The need for safe use and storage (including PPE)
  • Preparing and maintaining records (including Material Safety Data Sheets)
  • Undertaking appropriate training
  • Health surveillance

Course Material

Each delegate will be issued with a workbook to assist them both during and after the course which will contain information, guidance and forms to assist workers. The course is designed to be interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to develop their skills with the support of the course tutor.

Course Tutor

Our health and safety consultants are qualified and experienced health and safety professionals with an appropriate background in the health and safety industry and many years of experience in delivering engaging health and safety training programmes. All consultants hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Course Duration

The COSHH Awareness course will be delivered over half a day (three hours).

Certification

Delegates will be awarded a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course.
