NEBOSH Diploma Exams After the Course
Along with the quality and experience of our course tutors, one of the reasons why our pass rates for accredited health and safety courses like the NEBOSH range is because of the short period of time between the actual training taking place and sitting the exam. Whether it is a NEBOSH General Certificate course or the NEBOSH Diploma, our courses are deliberately scheduled so that there is little time to forget the knowledge learnt. The sheer volume of information taught during a NEBOSH General Certificate, and particularly on a NEBOSH Diploma course, means that there is a lot to forget, and the more time that elapses, the more information is likely to be forgotten.
NEBOSH General Certificate Exams
The way we schedule NEBOSH General Certificate exams plays a significant part in the attainment of high pass rates for our course delegates. A number of health and safety training providers try and save costs by linking in to NEBOSH standard exam sittings which are run every three months. Unfortunately for their delegates this can mean a wait of up to three months between the course finishing and taking the exam assessments depending upon when the course is scheduled, which is a long time to wait. Events and activities at work and in their personal lives means a lot of their acquired knowledge will be forgotten in this time period. When it comes to exam time, missing information can equal a lot of lost marks, which will probably be the difference between a pass and a fail.
Our NEBOSH General Certificate courses and exams are different. We pay NEBOSH for the privilege of being able to call exams when we want at our premises. This means that exams are scheduled straight after the course finishes; nearly always on the Monday after the last day of the course the previous Friday, giving the weekend for study and revision. Course delegates therefore go into the exams with all of the information taught fresh in their minds, which is obviously extremely beneficial when it comes to the written assessments!
Scheduling our own NEBOSH exams also means that we can accommodate a limited number of external delegates who have not studied with us and need to undertake the exam. Please visit the NEBOSH exam page for more details on exam only bookings for NEBOSH General, Environmental, Construction and Fire Certificate qualifications.
NEBOSH Diploma Exams
Examinations for the NEBOSH Diploma qualification are run slightly differently. Whilst we still run these at our premises, unlike the other NEBOSH courses where we can choose our own dates, these must be run on particular dates in January and July each year, as everybody in the country needs to take the Diploma exams at the same time.
Even so, we carefully schedule our NEBOSH Diploma courses around these exam days so that again, candidates go into the exams with the best chance of recalling the knowledge imparted during the training. This is perhaps even more crucial because of the amount of work which is involved in the Diploma, both in terms of the classroom tuition (all seven weeks of it) and the many hours of self study required.
The scope of the NEBOSH Diploma and the amount of dedication, proficiency and health and safety knowledge required means that pass rates nationally are quite a bit lower that the NEBOSH General or other Certificate-level courses. However, our NEBOSH Diploma course tutors (some of whom have or still hold important positions within NEBOSH itself) and the careful scheduling of the teaching days gives our Diploma delegates the best chance of passing the assessments and achieving this prestigious qualification.
Similarly, it is highly recommended to take the NEBOSH Diploma exams together rather than leaving a large amount of time between them. Although it may be easier to revise for one at a time, the knowledge forgotten waiting for the second exam will almost certainly impact negatively upon the overall marks acquired.
Please Note: Because NEBOSH Diploma exams are only run twice a year, we are unable to accommodate external exam-only bookings for the Diploma due to the limited number of places available, as these are all taken up by those studying the Diploma with us.
