The European Social Fund (ESF) is one of four Structural Funds designed to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union. The current programmes run from 2000 to 2006. ESF will provide about £4.5 billion in Great Britain (£3.5 billion in England) in this period.

National Examination Board in Occupations Safety & Health

NEBOSH - National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health

Founded in 1979, the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health is an independent awarding body attracting 15,000 candidates each year. NEBOSH qualifications are recognised and respected by employers in all sectors of the economy and provide the benchmark standard against which others are compared. NEBOSH was the first health and safety awarding body to have been given accreditation by the government's Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

Association of Learning Providers

The Association of Learning Providers is recognised as the voice of independent learning providers throughout the United Kingdom.

We work closely with policy makers such as Government departments, Members of Parliament, and skills funding agencies, such as the Learning and Skills Council, Jobcentre Plus, Ufi and Business Link. We are involved in the development of government strategy with the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and other national bodies. Members' views on training are represented to the policy makers when new initiatives are being planned.

UK Register of Learning Providers

UK Register of Learning Providers

The UK Register of Learning Providers is a DfES 'one-stop' portal to be used by government departments, agencies, learners, and employers to share key information about learning providers. The UKRLP allows providers to update their information in only one place and share this across agencies such as, the Learning and Skills Council, the National Learning Directory, the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and UCAS.

The Institute for Outdoor Learning is a registered charity that exists to encourage participation in outdoor learning by developing quality, safety and opportunity in outdoor provision and by supporting and enhancing the good practice of those who work in the field.
